Rio De Janeiro Excursions June 2025

Our excursion package is designed to immerse participants in the vibrant cultural heritage of Rio de Janeiro, with a strong emphasis on cultural appreciation over appropriation. Each of our curated experiences includes visits to iconic landmarks, participation in traditional activities, and meaningful engagement with the history and people who bring these cultural elements to life. From visiting Rio’s famous neighborhoods like Vidigal to learning Afro-Brazilian dance and music traditions, we ensure that every activity fosters respect, understanding, and genuine appreciation for the culture. Our goal is to offer an authentic, respectful engagement with the local community, allowing participants to leave with a deeper cultural connection and lasting memories.

A portion of our proceeds supports local Brazilian communities and programs, offering scholarships for locals to join our yoga sessions and promoting wellness initiatives to make yoga more accessible to all.

Day 2: Exploring Afro-Brazilian Rhythms in Little Africa

Immerse participants in the heart of Little Africa, exploring Rio’s Afro-Brazilian roots through music, dance, and history. The tour includes Valongo Wharf, the historic entry point for enslaved Africans, and a live samba performance.

Day 3: Visit to a Candomblé House in São Gonçalo

Explore the spiritual practices of Candomblé, witnessing a ceremony and learning about the Orixás (deities). Participants will engage with practitioners and experience the significance of Afro-Brazilian spirituality.

Day 4: Hike Through Vidigal

Participants will explore the Vidigal favela, hike to the top for stunning views of Rio’s coastline, and visit local art galleries that highlight Afro-Brazilian cultural expression.

Day 5: Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) & Rio Boat Tour

Participants will visit Sugarloaf Mountain, followed by a boat tour along Rio’s coastline to explore its maritime history and stunning views.

Additional Nightly Excursions

Our nightly excursions offer a lively immersion into Rio de Janeiro’s culture, from dancing to Afro-Brazilian rhythms in Lapa to enjoying caipirinhas on Copacabana beach under the stars. Each evening, participants will have the chance to explore the vibrant nightlife, engage with local music and traditions, and experience the city’s unique energy. These excursions provide an authentic, fun-filled way to connect with the local scene, all while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of every participant.
